Join us this week at The Table Public House for a night of great discussion and tasty beer. We'll explore God and their relationship to religion. Does God need saving from religion? Is religion meaningful? Does religion help with human flourishing?

In the earliest stages of the Christian church, and even before there was a church, Jesus and the disciples were working counter to Empire, not with it. In the generations since, many empires have tried to claim Christianity, including Rome. However, when looking at the message of Christ - particularly the beatitudes - we see a spirituality that offers something beyond Empire.

As we take time to wrestle with these difficulties, we can:

  • look at what healthy religion looks like,
  • explore some potholes and dangers,
  • see how this is playing out in the world around us.

Feel free to bring stories about what you’ve experienced and examples beyond Christianity.

We hope to see you Thursday night and look forward to the conversation!
