Theories about war and peace have been raging since the earliest hominids started fighting. From spears to nukes, war brings about destruction in myriad ways. Knowing when and where to fight, what weapons to use, and how to define your enemy are all elements in this wideranging discussion.

Religious groups have used war and fled from war. Race has been a constant subject of wars. Atrocities against women and children are often present in war as well. And in many wars, claiming a deity supports the cause has made things worse.

During our discussion we’ll wrestle with whether or not war is ever warranted. We’ll look at how people have made decisions about war. We will discuss the intersections of war and all the elements that inform our decision (race, gender, religion, etc.). We’ll also discuss the spiritual impacts of war and how they show up in the lives of the people who lived through it and how it impacts their descendents.

So join us at Strange Craft as we look at war theories, pacifism, and the consequences of war. We may be in the beer garden if the weather is nice.
