This Sessions Description:u
Our small group of adventurers have been commissioned by mayor Gerald Fitscabige of the local quaint fishing village of Sandpoint to investigate some unusual activity along the road to the east. While trade is sparse in the region it is customary for a trade wagon to make its routes when the chill of winter wanes. However the trade wagon has not returned despite the seasons turn into summer. Fearing the worst the mayor has provided a small coin purse and provisions (Rations and basic adventuring gear) for you to investigate and return hopefully with the traders in tow or at least with knowledge of the traders demise. Tavern murmurs tell of increased goblin activity in the surrounding wilds of a powerful wizard who lives in the woods and of the gruesome deaths of the traders and even someone claiming to have communed with their ghosts
With the townspeople's words in your ears and the mayors gold already happily in your purse the party hits the road bellies full sword arms strong well rested and hopefully prepared to fend for themselves passing the last dotted homestead a stout figure with long flowing apricot beard and hair working away with an axe at a felled tree in the blistering heat. The buzz of insects and droning thud of the axe broken by the loud caw of a crow it beats its wings disappearing into the tree cover as the party begins to descend into the dappled sunlight of the forest eclipsing the weather-beaten dirt road which the forest seems to be claiming as its own

SAFTEY TOOLS I expect that this game will initially be an open table in a public venue, so it makes sense to address Safety Tools. I am open to exploring any safety tools, so please feel free to reach out to me at any time to discuss and review. The last thing I want to do is run a game where our players feel uncomfortable. I think Sly Flourish covers the topic well in his article on D&D Safety Tools. https://slyflourish.com/safety_tools.html https://youtu.be/SjI-Dl0XJBU I blatantly copied and pasted key items from his article below. He deserves full attribution. LINES AND VEILS Please reach out to me if you have ideas or suggestions to expand this list. Here are some lines that we should not cross: At the Table 1. No racism 2. No sexism 3. No foul language (There are kids in the shop. I know that I occasionally let a colorful word fly, but we should attempt to keep it public friendly.) In the Game 1. No sexual violence. 2. No sexual harassment. 3. No harm to children. 4. No character-driven torture of animals. PAUSE FOR A SECOND This is a way for players or GMs to stop what's going on in-game and pop out of character to make sure things are going in the right direction or steer the direction. The person calling for the pause can bring up what they need, the others agree, and the game moves forward. Here are a few examples: 1. "Pause for a second. Let's skip the details on the sacrifice." 2. "Pause for a second. Can the spiders be something else?" 3. "Pause for a second. I don't need the details of the sex scene, can we skip forward?" 4. "Pause for a second. I'd like to slow down and make sure we're all cool with the decisions we're making." Who do I contact if there are any issues with the event, other DMs, or anything else? If you have any questions please feel free to ask or msg directly(DM-Clint)
