It's the last race of the 2025 Season!
With the crazy shenanigans last weekend at Qatar, the title is still up for grabs and honestly, it's a close race likely coming right down to the chequered flag this weekend in Abu Dhabi.
Our gracious hosts at the Celtic have offered to open up early on Sunday at 5:45 a.m. so that we can gather for the last race. Thank you, Celtic!!!
Join us at the Celtic this Sunday morning for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Celtic will open at 5:45 a.m. with lights out for the scheduled race start at 6:00 am.
Food and beverages will be available, and the bar opens at 7:00 a.m. for your favorite Sunday libations.
Because of the group size and staffing needs, we request that everyone meet the "two-drink minimum." That being said, ordering food counts, so even if you're not a drinker, it shouldn't be hard to find something. Just get anything, and the Celtic will continue to welcome us with open arms.
New and long-time fans of every driver/team are welcome. If it's your first time and/or you'll be alone, send us a DM and we'll set aside a spot for you in the Organizers' VIP Paddock so you can make some new friends (space permitting).
## Yas Island
### When was the track built?
In 2006, plans were announced to develop Yas Island, located just to the east of Abu Dhabi, into a new tourist destination, with a major part of the plans centring around a 5.5km race track. The diggers rolled into what would become the Yas Marina Circuit in May 2007, with the project completed by October 2009.
### When was its first Grand Prix?
In 2009. The track debuted as that year’s Formula 1 season finale, with Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel winning from team mate Mark Webber and the already-crowned 2009 champion Jenson Button. Vettel would go on to secure his first title in Abu Dhabi a year later, amid much crying.
### What’s the circuit like?
The Hermann Tilke-designed track is dominated by its 1.2km straight between Turns 5 and 6 – which, with slow-speed corners marking its beginning and end, makes it a honeypot for overtaking moves. Other highlights include the tricky run through Turns 10 and 11 into 12, which forces the drivers to brake hard with bags of lateral load still on the car. Track modifications ahead of the 2021 race, shortening the lap slightly to 5.28km, have only added to its excitement.
