Introduction to the Elixir Language

Details
Back for a second time by popular demand!
Elixir is a functional, concurrent, general-purpose programming language that runs on the Erlang virtual machine (BEAM). Elixir builds on top of Erlang and shares the same abstractions for building distributed, fault-tolerant applications. Elixir also provides productive tooling and an extensible design.
This talk will focus on the core language and differences between Elixir and other functional languages. Examples of the toolchain and common utilities will be provided.
About the presenter:
Geoff Smith is a native of Houston, co-organizer of the Denver and Houston Erlang/Elixir meetups, and a life long functional programming enthusiast. He currently works as a software engineer for Packlane.
