Agenda
6:00 PM Networking
6:15 PM Welcome and kick off talks
**6:20 PM RedwoodJS framework review from launching unboxed.deals - Ched.dev**

Ched built a website using RedwoodJS which is a full stack framework (node.js, graphql, prisma, react) to rapidly build projects. It started off as serverless, and has since been converted to serverful. Ched will cover his likes / dislikes about the framework, challenges & experiences along the way. He will also cover architecture, deployment hosting, costs, etc.

ched.dev is a software engineer by day, and endless project enthusiast at night. He frequently changes frameworks for the fun and pain of it.

7:00 PM Efficient NodeJS Builds With Docker Remote Caching and Other Tricks - Devin Wilson

Let’s walk through a typical docker-based CI build for a NodeJS application and learn some tricks to turn it into a highly optimized build that takes advantage of docker remote caching and other strategies to make the build blazing fast in most cases, including on a fresh build server with no local docker cache. This allows you to get faster feedback and reduce time spent waiting for the build to run.

Devin Wilson likes to joke that he is a “fuller stack” software engineer but in reality you’ll find him leaning toward backend work and contributing to frontend, builds, infrastructure, and process. He has always marveled at co-workers that tinker and now he is one of them. When not writing code, you may find him 3D printing, playing mandolin, or flying a kite.
