Weekly Outdoor Climbing Dumont (5.8-5.13a)

This meetup group is currently lacking in outdoor events, so I am trying something new and adding a weekly event like for the gyms, but outdoors. it will be going to the same small cluster of crags each week, because it has a good range of grades, decent temps for this time of year, I don't enjoy the planning involved in picking a crag each event, and I personally have a project there, so I'm going regardless of participation.

Dumont is a small area just West of Idaho Springs. It's not a large area, but it has a good concentration of routes at a range of grades with little approach between crags. We will go to Mill CreeK Crag, Mill Creek Block, Lisa Randall Wall, Correction Cliff, and Abattoir depending on interest and weather conditions. They are all within 5 minutes of walking. My project is at Abattoir, which also is the only one with afternoon shade, so most days will end there. I am happy to hang a top rope for people on any of the routes at the listed crags.

I don't know if people will enjoy a recurring event that returns to the same crags each time, so this may get cancelled if it doesn't get traction. It does offer an opportunity to get into projecting routes. Hopefully new people will have an opportunity to join each week.

I'm going to keep the same listing, but depending on forecasted weather, start and end times could change. I will plan on finalizing each time by the Wednesday night before the event, so make sure to check after that.
