Tarot & the Cube of Space: Introduction & Overview
Details
Just as tarot had evolved from a parlor game to a divination tool, the evolution continued from a focus on primarily mundane matters into a more spiritual framework. The inspiration for this was found in ancient Qabalistic scriptures, specifically Sefer Yetzirah, and parallels between Hebrew alphabet and the Major Arcana formed a symbolic language articulating this spiritual philosophy. Out of these works came the descriptions of two composite glyphs: the Tree of Life and the lesser-known Cube of Space.
Complimenting our online Tree of Life series for Tarot Geeks, we will be projecting the tarot onto the 3-D framework of the Cube and examining the new connections the cards form with one another. Beginning from the inside and expanding our way outside, we can not only enhance our understanding of the cards’ symbols, but we can also use this structure to strengthen our spiritual lives.
A fundamental understanding of tarot is highly recommended, as this material is of an intermediate to advanced level. That being said, we will be discussing the cards’ meaning in a much different way than the cookbook definitions, so it will be akin to learning tarot all over again. We will also use visualization and guided meditation to engage with these concepts on an appropriate plane.
We will be meeting for this series in person at Hooked on Colfax on the fourth Sunday of each month. Our calendar of events for 2026 will be:
