Officially, this location is known as the International Car Forest of the Last Church, but it is neither a forest (in the traditional sense) or a church (in the traditional sense). So what is it? The most crazy collection of old, abandoned cars, trucks, and other vehicles strewn about in odd formations and painted with graffiti and street art making some very unusual and fun photo subjects!

MEETUP INFO:
We will meet at 5pm and then set off to shoot through the afternoon and into sunset. This tends to be a good spot for astrophotography so if anyone wants to stay we can plan for stars and experiment with light painting.

As I recall, it can be a bit hard to find the location as signs are small and infrequent. You have to head down dirt roads, but they should be suitable for all vehicles.

The International Car Forest is around a 3 hour drive from Las Vegas. Please plan accordingly to arrive on time.

This location is near Goldfield, NV, a living ghost town. If you arrive early there are a lot of old, abandoned buildings, cars, railway equipment and other interesting subjects all around town. It’s the site for some of the (reportedly) most haunted buildings in the state!

MEETUP FEES:
There is no cost for this event.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Consider bringing snacks or something to eat for dinner if you intend to stay into the evening for astrophotography, and of course plenty of water. It can cool off quickly so a jacket might be wise to have on hand as well. It is recommended that you wear closed toe shoes with a thick sole (such as hiking boots) and long pants.

Parking is generally quite close to where we will be photographing, so if you forget a piece of equipment or decide that you actually do need that jacket it is just a short walk away.

If your plans change and you are unable to attend, please be courteous and cancel your RSVP so that someone else can attend.

Note that this site has a considerable amount of broken glass, exposed and sharp metal, and other hazards that you need to watch out for, especially in the dark!
