Hear ye, hear ye! Grab your camera and join us for a day of colorful characters, live action and some truly unique photo opportunities at the Las Vegas Renaissance Festival!

The festival brings the 16th century to life with knights in armor, royal courtiers, pirates, performers, artisans and plenty of wonderfully costumed characters. Between the jousting, stage shows, bustling marketplace and people simply wandering the grounds, there should be no shortage of interesting subjects to point your camera toward.

Try freezing the action during a sword fight or performance, work on capturing expressions and candid moments, or concentrate on the colors, costumes and details that make the Renaissance Festival such a fun place to photograph.

Our DPE Meetup will take place on Saturday, October 10, the middle day of the three-day festival.

## MEETUP INFO

We’ll meet at 11:00 a.m. just inside the main ticket and entry gates for a quick meet and greet. It will probably be crowded, so look for the group of people carrying way too much camera gear! There will also be lines for entry so take that into consideration for timing to meet.

After everyone has had a chance to say hello and meet their fellow photographers, we’ll break up and explore the festival on our own. Feel free to reconnect with other DPE members throughout the day or stay as long as you like.

## MEETUP FEES

There is no fee to attend the DPE Meetup, but you will need to purchase admission to the Renaissance Festival.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day of the event, although cash is not accepted at the door. You can also save a little time and money by purchasing your ticket in advance:

Look for Saturday Single Day Passes and click the + sign to see the available options. Please note that festival tickets are non-refundable.

## PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Expect plenty of walking throughout the day on a mixture of paved areas, dirt and gravel. October in Las Vegas can still be quite warm, so dress appropriately, wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

## PARKING

Parking at Sunset Park is extremely limited. No event parking is permitted north of Sunset Road, including at Cannon Middle School or Del Sol High School. Vehicles parked illegally on private or commercial property may be towed.

A better option may be to use one of the free festival shuttles. Shuttles are scheduled to operate from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

## ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If your plans change and you’re unable to attend, please cancel your RSVP so we know not to wait for you at the meeting location.
