Creative Problem Solving

In this introductory class, participants learn the art and science of creative thinking. Stories of inspiring thinkers and unlikely creatives are blended with psychology and neuroscience in a richly interactive workshop that teaches how to hack your brain (and the brains of teammates) to generate more creative solutions to tough problems. The workshop concludes with practice using the new skills in a design thinking challenge.

You will improve your creativity skills and hack your brain with a new understanding of the psychology and neuroscience of divergent thinking. You will learn to better solve insight problems and understand the universal problem solving steps to find new solutions. We will introduce Design Thinking and apply it to identify problems, generate potential solutions, and identify ways to prototype potential solutions. You will leave with an increased creative confidence to tackle tough problems.

Note this workshop will begin promptly at 6:30P. Please be sure to arrive on time between 6 - 6:25P to network before we dive in.

Meet Your Facilitator
Dan Manning is a facilitator, author, speaker, and creative thinker combining a career of military problem solving with the latest scientific research to unlock the power of applied creativity. His wide-ranging career in the United States Air Force provided a rich well of experiences around the world. Whether serving as an A-10 fighter pilot, warrior-diplomat in Central Asia, lead negotiator with Russian operational forces in Syria, or leading the air campaign against terrorists in the Middle East, Dan found creative thinking to be the answer to many of America’s toughest problems. Today, he helps businesses, non-profits, and governments apply creativity to their own hard problems.
