Stop the Suck! Designing Virtual Experiences in a Physically Distanced World I
Details
How many virtual meetings or working sessions have you attended during the Great Pause and thought:
- What’s the point of this session?
- Why am I here? Wait, when can I leave?
- Please stop talking.
- How much longer?
Everyone we know can count a few....
So we decided to set up three (3) conversation rounds in May to explore our options: how might we design better virtual experiences?
You are THE TRIBE that has the knowledge!
Let’s have some one (1) hour virtual design chats and start a different conversation. Let’s plant seeds that we can bring to life now and in a post-pandemic world. It’s time to grow a better crop of virtual experiences.
Your hosts are facilitators, but in this setting we will have our design thinking hats on to jam with you. Over the course of our conversations, we’d like to:
- Understand what isn’t working around virtual experiences for our community
- Learn what is working and how we might accelerate it
- Reconnect with each other around our common bond as design thinkers
We have ideas. We have implemented strategies. We are designing new processes. And we want to explore them with you. Not only that, we know your ideas will take the conversation to the next level. Jump in, share them, and let’s make virtual experiences better together!
Please note a unique Zoom link will be provided weekly to registrants.
Meet Your Hosts
Dr. Jo Golden
Jo designs and facilitates meaningful learning experiences in universities, organizations, and communities. As an educator and service designer, she combines strategy, human-centered practice, theory, and sensemaking to understand and communicate stakeholder needs. Oh yeah--and to DO things that matter with design.
By day, Jo is the Service Design Director for Fjord at Accenture Federal Services and teaches Design Leadership at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). On her off time, you might spot her in the community using Design Thinking tools to collaborate with all sorts of people--solving wicked problems and co-creating a world she wants to live in.
