RSK is a smart-contract peer-to-peer platform built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain using some innovations like merge-mining. Its goal is to add value and functionality to the core Bitcoin network by the implementation of smart contracts as a Layer 2 solution.

In this Meetup, Diego Gutiérrez, CEO of RSK, will talk about RSK and the RSK Infrastructure Framework Open Standard (RIF OS), a set of open and decentralized infrastructure protocols that allow faster, easier and more scalable development of distributed applications (dApps) within a unified environment.

RIF OS allows developers to access a set of decentralized infrastructure protocols to create scalable distributed applications (dApps) within a unified environment that helps accelerate time to market. By providing broad interoperability and faster implementation time, RIF OS aims to close the gap between blockchain technologies and their mass adoption in the market.

We will discover other projects like the RSK Name Service (identification of RSK addresses by human-readable names, in the same way, that Ethereum Name Services do) and discuss the RSK roadmap including stablecoins, Decentralized finances and other initiatives on the top of this smart-contracts platform.

# Who is Diego Gutiérrez?
Diego Gutiérrez Zaldívar was one of the pioneers in web development in Argentina and Latin America. He is Argentine and is dedicated to understanding the latest technologies and turning them into usable tools for business and social transformation. He was part of the founding teams of Clarín Digital, Patagon.com, Internet Argentina, and Xinergia. He met the Bitcoin world in 2011. Since 2012, Diego decided to devote himself entirely to the creation of Bitcoin communities in Argentina and Latin America. The Argentine community is one of the most active worldwide. Since 2015 he co-founded and is CEO of RSK Labs, the company behind RSK, the first smart contract platform over Bitcoin.
