Game Programming 101: Playing Tic Tac Toe

Details

In this edition of devday, we will be building a tic-tac-toe game that can beat us every time.

Ever thought playing tic-tac-toe was easy? Let’s learn to build a tic-tac-toe program that can beat us every time – on a grid of any size, not just 3x3. We will be learning about modelling a game, writing an evaluation function, and searching for the optimal move. We will also be looking at some of the improvements that can be made. What’s more, all that we learn can be applied to write a program that plays chess - isn't that awesome?

Agenda

• 6:30pm to 8:30pm - "Writing a tic-tac-toe program that can beat you every time" by Sudarsan Balaji (https://github.com/artfuldev)

• 8:30pm onwards - Dinner & Networking
