From VMs to containers and back again.

Details
When Docker first came out and revolutionized the whole devops space, it seemed like containers were the future of workload isolation and virtual machines were all but dead. But, Now they're making a comeback. MicroVMs are all the buzz now with AWS releasing Firecracker (https://github.com/firecracker-microvm/firecracker).
In this talk, We'll look at how virtual machines fit into the modern kubernetes bound infrastructure and in order to do so, we'll deconstruct containers and kubernetes internals. We'll be comparing Linux containers to traditional VMs and to microVMs. We'll explore the evolution of containers and VMs touching:
- Docker
- Kubernetes (and kubelet internals)
- Firecracker
- Google's gvisor
- katacontainers
- Weave ignite and Firekube
