Navigating complexity; past, present and … future? by Rudi Heinen
Were you ever in a situation where you thought: 'that should be easy to build in just an afternoon' only to find it’s not that easy? In this talk, we’re going to talk about how hard it is to keep things simple and easy in the complex cloud-native world. I’ll help you navigate when to choose the complex difficult route over the simple quick-fix, especially as organizations seem to drive complexity more than anything else.
Rudi Heinen builds highly critical platforms in finance, OT and semi-conductor industries. He has a passion for open source software, cloud native architectures and DevOps.Fast, Focused, and Feedback-Driven: how to build High-Performing Teams
What do fast moving, reliable engineering teams have in common? They’re fast, focused, and feedback-driven. So, how do you become one of those high-performing teams?
We’ll explore how to apply years of DORA insights to your own team through stories of teams that stumbled and leveled up, and how small, focused experiments, supported by data and honest feedback, can lead to big results. I'll share example tools I used, like my simple, self-developed questionnaire to spark conversations, identify improvement areas, and co-create team roadmaps that lead to sustainable delivery.
Jacob Duijzer is an experienced Engineering Manager passionate about building high-performing teams and delivering resilient, human-centric software solutions. With a deep interest in DevOps, Team Topologies, and developer experience, he brings a unique blend of technical insight and storytelling to every project.
