Risk-Based Cloud: EU Data Sovereignty

This talk examines the critical legal clash between EU GDPR and the pervasive US CLOUD Act. Understand why the EU-US Data Privacy Framework is a high-risk foundation. Compare the strengths of US hyperscalers against EU sovereign cloud providers. We will also cover the vital importance of securing physical access to critical data and services in a sovereign cloud context.

I’m a technology executive, business leader, people leader, and educator with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. Currently, I lead our cloud offerings, drive cloud upskilling initiatives for our teams, and manage strategic technology partnerships. I bridge the gap between business and technology, advising on how to solve customer challenges using cloud, data, and AI solutions from Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, and other leading providers. Presenting how Azure policy testing could be done in perfect world using (PoC level) application allowing testing of policies without deployment.

Juho has been consultant for 2 decades, and interested about technology like different cloud platforms and programming languages. Easily thinks "How hard can it be", which was also initiating thought for this talk.
