DevOpsDays TLV & Cloud Native Day Pre-Event Meetup @ Microsoft Reactor
Details
Join us at the Microsoft Reactor on November 15th for a DevOpsDays TLV with Cloud Native Day pre-event meetup for some excellent talks:
On the Agenda:
18:00 - Pizzas / Beers / Mingling.
18:30 - Talks:
ֿDARCC - The 5 layers of Modern App Security, Or Weis - Permit.IO.
Breaking down modern applications we can identify the key layers - DARCC (Dependency, Access-Control, Runtime, Configuration, Container) every developer needs to cover for their applications to stay secure and out of the dark.
Dependency - How do you secure your software supply chain?
Access-Control - How do you enforce your app's policies?
Runtime - How do you make sure your code behaves as you expect?
Configuration - How do you make sure your application is set and deployed correctly?
Container - How do you maintain the right environment to run your app?
And how do you bring it all together with a unified way of working?
See how across the layers best practices like Gitops, event-driven, microservices, policy as code, modular interfaces, and more come together.
Don't Let Your Resources Cloud Your Judgement - Karni Wolf, Snyk.
IaC is becoming more and more prominent, giving engineers a different kind of superpower over their infrastructure. But like the known saying, with great power comes great responsibility and unexpected pitfalls. My talk will cover my experience and perspectives on risks due to infrastructure drift, the importance of a tighter feedback loop between IaC and Cloud, and some ways to mitigate them.
Like the title suggests, we'll include some good old dad jokes!
Monitoring for modern scale platforms - Sarit Novik.
Sr. SRE Manager who works with data platforms, from OLTP to bigdata, on operations and development.
Monitoring resources is challenging. Finding the correct KPI's and metrics to use and creating good dashboards for investigation is time consuming. With growth to our customers and resources we found that we need to work with methodology that assist us to find root cause faster and to mitigate automatically. I will share our experience with the methods we used and the issues we encountered.
19:30 - More mingling & networking.
Snyk, Permit, Microsoft and OpsSchool will have mini-booths for you to learn more about what they're up to (and possibly nab some swag) - so join us!
