7:00 - 7:15 - Welcome and Introductions

7:15 - 8:00 - DevOps, CI, Opensource, and the Cloud - Glenn Buckholz (https://www.meetup.com/DevOpsDC/members/92641412/) - a description of how to implement CI (Continous Integration) with open source tools. A demo of a CI implementation is included as part of the talk. Part of transitioning to CI is the need to make deployments an engineering activity. In this senario the operations people are not just relying on the development team for information, but for tools to help speed up deployments and minimize human error. The benefits of moving to CI from a traditional manual process are highlighted, ways to address common institutional barriers are addressed, and some rules of thumb for how to plan a transition to DevOps/CI are discussed.
