[IN-PERSON] Observability VS Monitoring in a Cloud Native World

TALK ABSTRACT:
Observability has become a buzz work in the DevOps community and this presentation is going to shed some light on what people are currently doing to achieve a modern observability practice. Covering topics like OpenTelemetry from monolith to cloud native tech stacks, we will explore the best practices when it comes to monitoring the infrastructure, network, and applications.

SPEAKER BIO:

• Cole Beatty: Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Started my career in the observability space and have watched it evolve up until now. I have worked with hundreds of companies trying to modernize their DevOps monitoring practice to eliminate poor end user experiences. Outside of work, I am a musician/producer!
• Ed Garza: Is an East Dallas native who started his IT career in 1998. Previous experience includes working as a systems administrator and a systems engineer in various industries. Worked as a contractor in Afghanistan just for giggles.
