For edition #91 we’re joining forces with two of Porto’s cloud communities for a special KCD Warmup night, hosted by MC Digital at the Sonae Tech Hub. Two talks that every platform and DevOps team will recognise: building a paved road that teams actually follow, and keeping a cloud estate secure when anyone can deploy anything.

With the fall of the IT Empire, how does cybersecurity protect our assets from the roving bands of developers and DevOps, who expose things to the internet in new and unexpected ways?

Cloud providers offer us some tools, but they fall short of actual solutions. In this session, Chris will walk you through the concept of Security Invariants, how they can be applied to your organisation, and how we can leverage event-driven architecture to cover the edge cases the cloud providers don’t account for. Whether you’re a large, well-funded enterprise or a small, scrappy start-up, you’ll get some actionable ideas (and even a bit of code) you can use to govern your cloud estate better.
