Altruists Collective Virtual Kickoff

Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to see growing interest in this group and want to get things rolling. I’d like to kick things off with a quick, casual virtual hangout to introduce ourselves and map out what we want to explore together.
No preparation is required, but if you'd like a starting point for our chat, feel free to glance at these brief introductions to two of our core focus areas:

• Effective Altruism: Effective Altruism in 5 Minutes (Using evidence and reason to do the most good. We'll often focus on tech and governance, but the framework applies far beyond that, and all EA topics are welcome!)
• Tech & Digital Equity: TechEquity Collaborative (Exploring how the tech economy impacts local communities and structural inequality)
• TechTonic Justice: TechTonic Justice (Examining civil rights, human rights, and systemic fairness in emerging tech)
• AI Governance & Safety: PauseAI (One perspective on policy proposals and precautions around frontier AI)

We’ll spend the first few minutes introducing ourselves, and the rest talking through these concepts and brainstorming topics for our next in-person or virtual meetups.
