Show and tell, browse, discuss vintage computers
Details
Hello All,
The next DFW Retrocomputing meetup, 2026 Winder edition is coming soon!
The meetup will be held on the third Saturday in January 17, 2026, from 12:00-4:00pm, brought to you by the DFW Retrocomputing Meetup group and the Vintage Computing Collective of North Texas.
We had record-breaking attendance at the last two meetups, around 150-200 attendees. The spacious venue was filled with exhibits and traders, with almost all the tables occupied.
Once again, a big thank-you to Mouser for their continued support of our growing retrocomputing community! Their generous dontation has made it possible for us to have this spacious venue. We will hear from them in January regarding continued funding for 2026. If you make any public posts about attending the event, be sure to tag Mouser--it lets them know that we appreciate the funding.
The meetup will begin at 12:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm, and will be at the same location as the last few meetups, Bingo Bingo in Grand Prairie.
When parking, please be careful to observe the parking lot markings, and only park in marked parking spaces. Last time, some people parked in areas intended for parking lot navigation, which can cause issues with parking lot traffic and fire/first responder access.
As before, the there will be a concession stand with a selection of comfort food, so plan to eat lunch there.
We encourage you to bring something for show and tell. It could be a new addition to your collection or a favorite system you've showcased before. Don't be shy. We love seeing the unique treasures our community has to offer. And if you're not quite ready to exhibit, no worries—just bring yourself and your passion for retrocomputing.
As on prior meetups, you are welcome to bring your items for swap, sale, or giveaway. However, we have had some issues with the freebie tables in recent meetups. We ask that you follow the these rules:
- You must ensure that all items are removed from the venue at the end of the meetup. We cannot leave behind boxes of donation items. If you don't take away your unclaimed giveaways, then the organizers must assume that burden
- Don't strip computers and other items on the freebie tables for parts. Either take the whole item, or leave it for someone who wants the whole item. What you do with it when you get home is up to you.
- There will be a designated table (or tables) for freebies. Do not assume that any items outside the free tables are giveaways.
You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring your family. If you bring young children, please keep an eye on them.
I look forward to seeing all of you there!
Dave
