DFW Pythoneers - From ALICE to Workflow Automation: Building AI Agents

Details

Welcome. We're a friendly group for those who program using the Python language as well as those wanting to learn it. We try hard to be beginner friendly as well as cover advanced material.

If you are new to Python, you are invited to attend the Beginner's Session starting at 6pm.

Our normal meeting will start at 7pm. Speaker: Jim Vogel, Director of Data Science

Join us as Jim shares about his journey with AI agents - from creating ALICE to what it's evolved into today. He'll walk through how he used these tools in his workflow and show you how to build your own. We'll cover building an agent from scratch, creating MCP clients, and even setting up a simple MCP server that can do whatever you can dream up in Python. Whether you're looking to automate calendar reminders in Slack or create an assistant that can fix code issues, this talk will give you the practical building blocks to get started. Bring your questions and ideas as we explore these concepts together. This is an informal session designed to get you excited about the possibilities of AI agents in your Python projects.

This be an in-person event
