Making friends as an adult shouldn't be this hard, that's why we started DFW Young & Social! This group is all about making it easier to meet new people, try new things, and build real connections. Joining is free and there's no pressure. Just fun, welcoming events where you can show up, be yourself, and connect with great people.
DFW Young & Social LLC is a not-for-profit company, and this Meetup group is one of the official homes of our community. Community Guidelines
These apply at our space, at every event we run, and on every platform where you find us. How you treat fellow members outside of those spaces matters too.
Be Respectful & Inclusive
- You must be 18+ to participate.
- No hate speech, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or illegal, explicit, or NSFW content.
- Treat instructors, hosts, staff, and fellow members with kindness.
- Avoid hot-button topics (politics, religion, and other controversial topics).
- Respect people's life choices and priorities. We all want different things. Some of us are focused on career, family, creativity, fitness, friendships, or other goals. All of those paths are equally valid, and no one is expected to follow the same timeline.
- Share your perspective without putting others down. It's fine to say what works (or doesn't work) for you, like "I'm not ready for marriage right now" or "That hobby's not my thing." Don't phrase it in a way that belittles others, like "I'm not ready to be boring" or "It's cute you like that… but I've never thought it was interesting." Be true to yourself and respectful of others.
Keep It Friendship-Focused
- DFW Young & Social is about building meaningful connections, not for those focused solely on dating. If a natural connection happens in a safe, boundary-respecting way, awesome!
- We have zero tolerance for aggressive flirting, pickup behavior, or treating events like a dating pool. No one should ever feel pressured to share personal info, continue conversations elsewhere, or take things further. Boundaries must be respected. If someone's behavior crosses the line, let an organizer know immediately. Violations will result in removal from the community.
- Community over individual agendas. What makes this community special is our willingness to share our passions and hobbies with one another. It's about creating shared experiences and genuine connections together. Solely pushing your own lifestyle or preferences onto others takes away from that. This community works best when we share, collaborate, and respect each other's boundaries.
Respect Privacy & Boundaries
- Don't share anyone's personal info (contact details, photos, where they live or work) without their permission. Owners have every right to share information with the community for safety-related bans.
- Messages to other members should come from a genuine connection, not a cold call. No mass-messaging and no unwanted flirting.
No Advertising, Promoting, or Soliciting
- Our events are not a place for self-promotion, advertising, or soliciting services. No sales pitches, pyramid schemes, recruitment spiels, or flyers to other members.
- Don't use the DFW Young & Social name or logo, or present an unofficial meetup as a DFWYAS event, without our written okay.
- All partnerships and collaborations require rigorous alignment with our values and organizer approval.
At Our Events
- Tickets can't be resold or transferred without our approval. If you book seats for friends, you're agreeing to our policies for them, and everyone in your party must be 18+.
- Photos and videos are taken at our events and may be used on our website and social media. If you'd rather not appear, let us know in writing before the event. We'll do our best, though we can't always guarantee it in group settings.
- If alcohol is part of an event, drink responsibly, and follow any rules the host shares.
Breaking these guidelines, online or in person, may result in a warning, removal from events or classes without a refund, or a ban from the community.

The Halloween Mixer: A Zero-Proof Social Night
Skip the bar crawl this Halloween and try something different.
Join us for a fully alcohol-free Halloween celebration built around costumes, good food, and a whole lot of ways to have fun. No pressure, no hangovers, just a great night with a great crowd. Pizza, wings, and appetizers will be available to keep you fueled, and premium zero-proof drinks are included.
The rest of the night is yours to fill however you like across our karaoke room, 260+ board game library, interactive social games, music bingo, scavenger hunt, and a costume contest with prizes throughout the evening.
BYOB is not permitted. This night is intentionally alcohol-free and better for it.

Handle it well and an alliance could be formed. Handle it poorly and it could spell disaster. You do not need to have played any previous sessions to jump in. As long as you know how to build a character you are ready to play. New and newer players are welcome at the table.

Beginner Salsa Dance Class
DFW Young & Social, 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, tx, USFast-paced, flirty, and danceable to hundreds of Latin pop hits, Salsa is one of the most fun dances you can learn and you do not need a partner to get started.
This beginner class covers the essential footwork, timing, and lead and follow basics to get you moving and connecting with others right away. We rotate partners throughout, so everyone gets plenty of opportunities to dance and meet new people.

Dracula | DFWYAS Social Book Club
DFW Young & Social Club, 2309 Springlake Rd Suite 600, Farmers Branch, TX 75234, USA, Farmers Branch, TX, USA young lawyer travels to a remote castle in Transylvania to close a simple property deal. His host is charming, ancient, and never seems to eat.
Join us for Bram Stoker's Dracula, the gothic classic told entirely through diary entries, letters, and newspaper clippings as a small group of friends slowly piece together what they are up against. Starting just in time for Halloween, we will move through the book across three sessions with plenty of space for discussion, theories, and reactions to the parts that still hold up surprisingly well.

Free Hatha Yoga Class | Strength & Mobility

Led by DFWYAS Member Brandon, this weekly Hatha yoga class focuses on building real strength and mobility through a rotating four-week cycle of targeted sessions. Each week has its own focus so you can drop in any time and still get a complete, intentional practice.
