Learning to Forgive
Join Gen Kelsang Chogyop for a half day meditation retreat. This retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.
“Even if someone I have helped
And of whom I had great hopes
Nevertheless harms me intentionally,
May I see him or her as my holy Spiritual Guide.”
– Geshe Langri Tangpa, Eight Verses of Training the Mind.
Forgive and forget is easy to say, but so hard to do! When we’ve been hurt, it’s easy to hold onto pain and resentment – sometimes for many years – but Buddha taught that this resentment has no function other than to cause us harm: it makes us miserable, keeps us trapped in the past and prevents us from healing our hearts and rebuilding our relationships.
Furthermore, assigning blame to ourselves is a fruitless endeavor that only serves to erode our self-confidence. Rather than fixating on our imperfections, Buddhist wisdom encourages us to recognize that imperfections do not define us and are not inherently part of us.Discover the liberating freedom of forgiveness, taking back power over our own mind and feelings through wisdom, compassion and inner strength. Everybody needs this power – and everybody is welcome!
