Discussion: Separating Art from the Artist

Can we separate art from the artist? If we patronize art from problematic sources, are we complicit? Does paying to see a Picasso exhibit or the Michael Jackson biopic reward a wrongdoer or dismiss the wronged? What, if any, obligations do artists have toward society? More broadly, given art’s expressive power, is there an inevitable relationship between art and politics? As usual, this is a combined meeting between Digging Deepr and SOCHS. Please join us.
