Discussion: Taxes (NEW LOCATION)

NEW LOCATION: Knowlwood Restaurant, 14952 Sand Canyon, Irvine.

Is the purpose of taxes only to fund the government or to engineer behavioral incentives also? What are the redistributive consequences of our present system? Should taxes be leveled on income, sales, or wealth? If income, graduated or flat? Ought any organizations be exempt? Why do state income tax levels vary so much? What about a Federal negative income tax that provides a subsistence floor? As usual, this is a combined meeting between SOCHS and Digging Deepr.
