What we’re about
Digital People in Peterborough (or DPiP for short) is a fairly informal effort to help introduce people working in digital to each other, concentrating on Peterborough UK and the surrounding areas of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire etc.
Everyone is welcome and the "Peterborough" bit is simply to indicate that’s where the pub/venue will be.
It’s open to anyone working in digital whether you’re employed by a large company, freelancing, or founding your own start-up. And all disciplines are welcomed and encouraged whether you work in development, design, creating content, marketing, databases, security, systems administration or something else we haven’t thought of yet!

*Please note filming and photography by or on behalf of Digital People in Peterborough takes place at our events. You can opt-out of photography or filming at any time. If you specifically desire to opt out of onsite photography/filming, please contact hello@mydpip.com or make this known to a member of the organising team. See all👉 Ensure you RSVP in advance
It's a free event, and you can turn up on the night, but letting us know in advance means we have enough chairs and space for everyone.
• What we'll do
Videogames are a bigger industry than films and music - combined. And it impacts our behaviour outside of virtual worlds. We'll look at modern and retro gaming, how it fuels platforms like Youtube, hands-on demos and more.
Speaker slots are still available, so if you'd like to share something gaming-related or bring along anything interesting to share, drop us a line: hello@mydpip.com.
Working on a game? Why not try it with some real-life beta testers.
• What to bring
Yourself, and anyone you think would be interested (RSVP on Meetup please, or you might end up sitting on the floor).
• Important to know
All the equipment has been kindly supplied for the evening by incredibly generous volunteers. Please respect that this is both personal to them and valuable.

AI that works: moving beyond the hype to real adoptionGenerative AI is everywhere – in headlines, in board meetings, and increasingly in the tools we use every day. It's been described as transformative, disruptive, even revolutionary. But for many businesses – from sole traders to SMEs to larger organisations – the question remains: how do we actually use it in a way that works?
This talk is for anyone trying to make AI adoption real. Not just talked about. Not stuck in the too-hard basket.
I'll be sharing what I've learned from working with businesses, councils, charities... early-stage AI users across sectors. My focus is always on what's practical, ethical and impactful. That includes helping teams build the confidence to experiment safely, and avoid getting bogged down waiting for the "perfect" AI product to come along.
