Kelowna Software Projects Night

A casual get-together for people who like making things with software and/or hardware — or who are just curious about it. No experience required, no project required, no agenda. Show up and hang out.

If you have something you're working on, bring it. If you just want to see what other people are up to and maybe get inspired, that's totally valid too. We've had complete beginners sit next to people writing programming languages from scratch, and everyone has a good time.

We usually go grab food and drinks once the energy winds down.

Some past and ongoing projects:

• 3D printing a wireless keyboard and then actually programming the firmware for it
• Converting a popular VS Code plugin to compile with ESBuild
• Seeing how far you could get vibe coding a browser game without writing a single line manually
• An AI-powered pizza topping recommendation engine (yes, really)
• Writing a programming language from scratch
• Writing games in intentionally obscure programming languages
• Programming microcontrollers designed to run on actual satellites
