Talk 1 - Robert Slootjes: Building a scalable ticketing platform
Learn how we created a serverless, fault-tolerant, event-driven ticketing platform on AWS. We will cover the reasons behind the decision of building this platform from scratch ourselves, the architecture of the different components, the concepts of event logging and how we deal with security & privacy. The platform launched halfway 2024 and has already been battle tested by successfully selling tickets for the biggest festival of The Netherlands, Zwarte Cross.

Talk 2 - Robert Slootjes: Serverless Festival Security
Imagine buying a bunch of turnstile gates on AliExpress, replacing the logic boards with a custom designed board & backend software and securing some of the largest music festivals with it a few months later. We love to show you how we developed a security solution with RFID at festivals like Defqon.1, Awakenings, Decibel Outdoor and Sziget powered by AWS IoT Core (MQTT websocket server), Lambda and Redis. You will learn what hardware was used, how the architecture was designed and what flexibility the system offers.
