I love a great Asian restaurant, and when I discovered Jinzen, I was especially excited when I took a look at their menu. You like Asian? We got Asian! Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai; you'll find something from each of them here! My problem isn't finding something to eat on the menu, it's limiting my dinner to a rational amount of food - because there are so many great choices! I suspect you might have the same problem - and everything I've tried so far has been fantastic!

Cuisine - As I mentioned above, pretty much all of eastern Asia is represented here, in at least one or two items. I think Japanese has the most representation, with several types of ramen, a couple tempura, and a couple katsu dishes. Korean? Try the bibimbap or the Bulgogi Deopbap or one of the Naengmyeon. Chinese? The volcano fried rice with kung pao chicken is amazing, and they even have my favorite, a magnificent steak and garlic in black pepper sauce on a hot stone, which technically is Taiwanese! And more; this is just a sampling. If you like to keep it familiar, even their spring rolls, chicken skewers, and chicken gyoza (aka pot stickers) are delicious!

Price - Jinzen is a really nice place in Clayton, so you would expect the food to be pricey, but actually it's surprisingly reasonable! The appetizers start well under $10, and the entire menu maxes out under $20! For my money, these prices are hard to beat, especially for a gorgeous place in Clayton!

Other Info - Jinzen is toward the east end of the block of buildings on the north side of Maryland Ave in Clayton, between Forsyth and Brentwood. Street parking is available, but the secret weapon is the parking lot behind the buildings, accessible from either end. There are multiple walkways from the back lot to Maryland; the easternmost comes out right next to the restaurant.

I'll be looking forward to seeing lots of my friendly foodies at Jinzen for some fantastic Asian food on Monday the 11th!
