Finding Inner Peace by Connecting to Our Hearts
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USWithin the hearts of each and every one of us is a deep well of inner peace, that is natural to us and always there. Yet each day, our mind is clouded with disturbing thoughts and feelings and we find ourselves vulnerable to the shifting and changing conditions of daily life.
By connecting to our heart, we can learn to access this inner peace all the time. Buddha taught that the way to make this connection is training in meditation.
In this series, we will learn how to develop and sustain a meditation practice that will allow us to access the peace within our own mind, and remain connected with it throughout our daily life, no matter what conditions are arising.Teacher: Eric Shyman

MEDITATION ON THE CLARITY OF MIND
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USWhen the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.
The meditation on the clarity of the mind is one of the best and most powerful methods to facilitate this shift - allowing us to easily let go of busyness and distraction and to access an experience of mental peace and calm.
Find the missing peace and discover your true self - or ‘Buddha Nature’ - through this simple, yet profound meditation.

We are not separate from our world; each of us influences this planet and everyone on it. In these uncertain times, it is so important to learn to meditate because the bigger our heart the more difference we will make.
We’ll start with breathing meditation, followed by a contemplative reading & teaching from the book, 8 Steps to Happiness, then the beautiful “Prayers for World Peace” and a final meditation.

Wisdom and Wonderment
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USAccording to Buddha, all suffering is born from a misapprehension of how things exist.
Because we don’t understand the relationship between our world and our mind, we grasp at things and perpetuate a cycle of conflict and pain.
Through developing a special wisdom that understands the true nature of reality, we begin to undermine all the unhappiness in our minds and lives. As Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso said, “You must believe, the truth is UNBELIEVABLE!” What could be more exciting (or a greater gift to ourselves and others) than to meditate on Buddha’s profound Teachings that lead to personal freedom and the exalted state of enlightenment?!!!Teacher: Paige Polisner
