The Wisdom of Letting Go
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USIs there anything in our life that we are holding onto that it might be wise to let go of? Things? Places? People? Feelings? Situations? Opinions? Being Right? Our Self Image? Our view of others? Resentments? Grudges? The way things used to be? Our way of doing things? Certain delusions?
We learn from Buddha that it’s not necessarily the people, places and things we need to let go of, but our distorted views of those things, our attachment to them, and our grasping too tightly onto them will inevitably cause us pain. In this series, we’ll take stock of our lives, and our minds (!) and apply the wisdom we can learn from Buddha to help us to let go into freedom, joy and pure possibility.

Having Faith in the Way Things Are: The Power of Acceptance in Challenging Times
Kadampa Meditation Center LI, 282 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY, USImagine moving through the world, through all our activities and interactions, through whatever the news of the day brings, without feeling like we're fighting against the tide…
With the special wisdom of patient acceptance, we can live with grace and composure, keeping a clear open mind that is able to respond to whatever situations arise in the most constructive beneficial way, for both ourself and others."Patience is a mind that is able to accept fully and happily, whatever occurs. It is much more than just gritting our teeth and putting up with things. Being patient means to welcome wholeheartedly whatever arises, having given up the idea that things should be other than what they are."
