Vegan Lunar New Year Potluck

Join us for a Vegan Lunar New Year Potluck, where we celebrate the Year of the Snake over delicious plant-based dishes. Lunar New Year is a time to honor renewal, prosperity, and harmony—values that align beautifully with choosing compassion for all beings.

In various Asian cultures, animals play a central role in Lunar New Year symbolism, representing traits like strength, intelligence, and kindness. This celebration offers us a chance to honor those values by reimagining traditions in a way that respects and protects animals.
Together, we’ll share vegan versions of beloved Lunar New Year dishes.

In addition to the potluck, we'll have a program where we will have a few speakers from the animal rights API community speak on what Lunar New Year means to them. Also, we will host a donations-based giveaway to benefit the Animal Liberation Temple, a Buddhist temple and animal sanctuary run by activist and monk, Reverend Robert Yamada.
Bring your favorite plant-based dish, your love for animals, and an open heart. Let’s celebrate renewal in a way that embraces kindness for all beings. Everyone is welcome—join us as we start the New Year with a spirit of unity and compassion!
