What we’re about

Discover the sport of disc golf. This Meetup is a fun introduction to the sport. You'll learn how to play and how to throw different types of discs and we'll answer any questions you may have. You'll learn enough to be able to get out there and play either on your own or with friends. There is no cost to join or play, just RSVP your interest here on Meetup.

Disc golf is an outdoor recreational and competitive sport played with plastic discs. It is often referred to as Frisbee golf. The goal is to throw the disc (or "frisbee") into a metal basket with the least amount of throws as possible. Scoring is very similar to regular golf with the aim to be 'even' or under par.

Once you've discovered how much fun it can be you'll want to play everyday and improve your game!

Loan equipment will be provided for new players but once you get hooked you'll be wanting to buy your own discs right away!

Tournaments and social days are held throughout the year in Sydney and in other cities around Australia too. All skill levels are welcome to register and our Meetup will help you prepare for these events.

You'll meet the local disc golfing community along the way and make friends (or frenemies as you secretly want to beat their scores!). Feel free to RSVP if you're just looking for a card buddy for the day!

You don't have to be new to disc golf to join the Meetup. Any experienced players are encouraged to come along for the fun and even mentor the group.

This is a free Meetup. RSVP is required to each of our posted events to keep track of attendance. If you're running late please send a message and we'll wait for you.

Suitable for ages 18+. Young kids must be supervised at all times to avoid being injured as there may be other players outside of our group throwing discs around us. Don't feel that you're too old for this sport either!

Joining the disc golf community will help grow the sport here in Sydney and drive the development of more disc golf courses in Sydney, Australia.

We use the UDisc app to track scores. It's not required on the day but we encourage you to use the app as it can do so much more than just keep score.
