About us
Find out why the Wasatch Mountain Club is so much more than a hiking/climbing/biking/… group. We use this social media site to help perspective members learn about the WMC. Being a member of this meet-up group does not make you a member of the WMC! Perspective members are welcome to try out an activity or two listed on this Meetup site under the following conditions:
- Know that an activity’s “Going List” will be a subset of those participating.
- If the organizer of an activity wants to or must limit the group size (e.g. going into a Wilderness area) then priority will be given to WMC members.
- The person posting activities here will not be the actual organizer. To communicate with the organizer of an activity use the WMC Calendar https://www.wasatchmountainclub.org/calendar to contact them. Additionally updates to an activity, such as a new meeting place, will be posted in the WMC Calendar and may not get posted here.

Gym climbing at the Front - South Main Location
The Front Climbing Club - South Main, 4140 S Main St, Millcreek, UT, USWe'll be climbing at the Front's South Main location at 6:30 every Monday. Note that there are two locations. We are at the Millcreek location. Multiple people have gone to the wrong place, don't do that.
If you don't know me, look for my bright orange hat and come introduce yourself. We usually meet at 6:30 around the benches on the east side of the first floor. If you come later, we can usually be found on the first floor, but you can also call or text. All levels are welcome. We generally have a group of around 10 people each week including top-rope, lead climb, and bouldering so there's always someone to climb with.
Options
1. If you have a membership, just come find the group and climb with us.2. If you have climbed at the Front before but do not have a membership, talk to me and I will attempt to find a guest pass for you (but no promises).
3. If you have never climbed at the Front but you know how to climb and belay, you will need to pass the gym's top-rope belay test. Find me and I can help.
4. If you are brand new to climbing, you will need to take their 45-minute Top-Rope Lesson. Book this online here. If you schedule this one hour before the meetup, then you'll be all set to climb with us when we arrive.
Cost:
Feel free to contact me and ask about a guest pass, members get a free one each month but they go fast. If you need to buy a day pass, it's $35. A 10x day pass is $249. If you've never been a member or have taken at least 3 years off, there's also a two-week trial good at all 3 locations for $65. I recommend you try one of these options and if you love it, get a membership! If you have your own harness, shoes, or self-locking belay device, bring them. If not, the gym has you covered.| Organizer: | David Tanner|
