About us
Find out why the Wasatch Mountain Club is so much more than a hiking/climbing/biking/… group. We use this social media site to help perspective members learn about the WMC. Being a member of this meet-up group does not make you a member of the WMC! Perspective members are welcome to try out an activity or two listed on this Meetup site under the following conditions:
- Know that an activity’s “Going List” will be a subset of those participating.
- If the organizer of an activity wants to or must limit the group size (e.g. going into a Wilderness area) then priority will be given to WMC members.
- The person posting activities here will not be the actual organizer. To communicate with the organizer of an activity use the WMC Calendar https://www.wasatchmountainclub.org/calendar to contact them. Additionally updates to an activity, such as a new meeting place, will be posted in the WMC Calendar and may not get posted here.

Training: Pre-Season Anchor Workshop
Location not specified yetRock climbing season is approaching fast, and we're hosting a prep workshop on climbing anchors for those who want to learn or just have a refresher. We'll talk about some of the common anchor types found in the Wasatch, open vs. closed anchor systems, and some best practices for setting & cleaning. We'll start with classic single pitch scenarios, working into more modern systems and multi-pitch riggings. Casual / social learning environment just out of our house, so feel free to bring munchies to share. We'll have a number of bolt boards and hardware to practice with, but also bring any of your own kit you'd like to use.
