About us

A community for people building at the intersection of
art and technology. If you've ever struggled to explain what you do at
a party -- you'll do fine here.

What we're into:
- Interactive media and installations, including AR & VR
- Game design — mechanics, engines, playtesting
- AI — creative tools, agents, and what's actually usable today
- Video and motion — production, post, generative
- Programming and the craft of building things that work
- Art that treats technology as a material
- Whatever's emerging that nobody has good words for yet
The mix shifts with whoever's in the room. That's intended, not
sloppy.

What a night looks like:
Someone shows something real — finished, broken, or half-working.
Demos you can put your hands on. Then a long stretch of unstructured
time, because the conversation after the talk is usually the reason
to come.

Who's showing up?
Programmers, artists, designers, game devs, filmmakers, researchers,
students, and people who are curious but can't yet name what they're
curious about. Most sessions assume no particular background — we'll
say so in advance when one goes deep.

Show and tell
Most talks come from members. A working prototype, a failed
experiment, a weird finding, a tool you can't stop using — all more
interesting than a polished deck. Message the organizers and we'll
find you a slot.

House rules:
Be decent to each other. Work in progress is welcome and gets treated gently.
Organized by districtX, a digital studio in DC.
Come to one and see what you think.
