This 2024, Div0's Career Development Quarter (CDQ), together with our partner — HRS Talents, are proud to present a 6-part Career Series aimed to tackle questions on:
- Deciding the right cybersecurity domain in your career
- How to prepare for that career path
- What to expect after landing a technical role
Learn from our invited experts' cybersecurity journey and immerse yourself in hands-on workshops to experience a day in the life of each profession!
Odd Months (i.e., January, March, May, July, September, November), we will be organising Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) sessions where you can engage with top experts to learn the in’s and out’s of various cybersecurity domains. Get your burning questions answered and delve deep into the realities of various cybersecurity roles.
Even Months (i.e., February, April, June, August, October, December), we will be conducting A-Day-in-the-Life-of (ADL) workshops where you can experience first-hand working in specific cybersecurity domains: their pro’s and con’s, what daily tasks entail and overall challenges. Evaluate if a career in various cybersecurity fields relates to your skills and aspirations.
Coming November 2024, the series will be covering what a career in the field of Cyber entrepreneurship & startups is like.

SPEAKER BIOS
Pedro Hernández — Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder, Build38
Pedro is a technology professional with over 20 years of experience in Telecommunications, Mobile, and Cyber Security. Originally from Barcelona, he moved to Singapore 10 years ago and co-founded Build38, aiming to enhance secure app access for users in the APAC region. He led Build38's global Revenue team, handling Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success. Currently, as Chief Strategy Officer, he focuses on Strategic Planning, Partnerships, and key projects. Previously, Pedro led Cyber Security Product Management for East Asia at G+D Mobile Security and participated in standardization organizations like OMA and 3GPP, earning a patent in Smart Cards and Security. Pedro holds a degree in Physics, a master’s in information Society and Economy and is an IESE Business School alumni.
Simeon Tan — Co-Founder and CTO of Protos Labs and Protos Cover
Simeon Tan is an accomplished entrepreneur and cybersecurity leader. He is currently the co-founder and CTO of Protos Labs and Protos Cover, where he plays a pivotal role in helping organizations across the Asia Pacific region enhance their cyber resilience through innovative cybersecurity solutions and insurance services.
Before founding Protos Labs, Simeon honed his skills at renowned organizations such as Booz Allen Hamilton, DNV, and GRF. His expertise in cybersecurity has benefited national government agencies, enterprises, and insurers worldwide. His professional qualifications include certifications in Certified General Insurance (GIA), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), Global Response and Industrial Defense (GRID), AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Registered Tester (CRT), and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
Dhillon Kannabhiran — Founder of Hack in The Box
Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran (@l33tdawg on Twitter) is the former Founder of Hack in The Box (http://www.hitb.org), organiser of the HITBSecConf series of network security conferences which has been held annually for over a decade in various countries including Malaysia, The Netherlands and the UAE.
Prior to quitting his day job to lead the HITB team on crazy adventures around the world, Dhillon started off at the height of the dotcom craze as a technology journalist with PC World, ZDnet, MIS Asia and CNet. When the bubble burst, he moved on to a Malaysian telco as Chief IT Officer to spend his days in the world of Cisco AS5300s, in a land of packet switched networks at a time when Asterisk did not just mean '*'
