"Cyber Civil Defense — Leveraging Shadowserver's Capabilities and Capacity"
Shadowserver’s Public Benefit Mission has not changed! The two decades of action are linked to the Shadowserver Foundation’s non-profit mission to make the Internet more secure by bringing vulnerabilities, malicious activity, and emerging threats to light. We promote a culture of sharing, equip organizations to improve their security, support criminal investigations, help protect victims, and offer free remediation reports.
What will we cover in the session?
- Shadowserver Foundations quite role in the Internet’s cyberdefense.
- Step-by-step essentials of what Shadowserver provides to organizations who subscribe.
- How organizations can subscribe and leverage the Shadowserver Alliance.
"Craft, Curiosity & Conferences: A Field Guide to Succeeding in Cybersecurity"
Cybersecurity is more than just tools and techniques — it's about how you think, how you learn, and how you grow. In this talk, we’ll explore how to make the most out of conferences e.g., SINCON, and why conferences are essential to succeeding in this discipline.
We'll talk about how to approach conferences with the right mindset — not just to collect slides or swag, but to absorb ideas, connect with people, and challenge your assumptions. From hallway conversations and hands-on workshops to community villages and volunteering, these are the things that can accelerate your growth in ways that formal training never could.
This isn’t just about SINCON — it’s about developing the habits, curiosity, and community engagement that define successful cybersecurity practitioners. Whether you're just starting out or already working in the field, this session will help you rethink what “learning” really means, and how conferences can be a turning point in your journey.
