Two tank trip to Pt Loma and maybe a wreck. Meet at Ski Beach at 0730 to load the boat, underway around 0800. We will load by the bathrooms.

This is a no take no hunt trip.

Priority goes to a member who has not been on the boat in the last 30 days for the the first 72 hours following the trip announcement. Members could get moved from the "going" list from the "waitlist" if they have been on the boat within the past 30 days and a member that is on the "waitlist" has not been on the boat in the last 30 days-they will get moved to the "going" list.

I am proud to offer this bucket list trip for the 10th straight year. 9 years ago, I first organized this trip with the Dive Animals Scuba Club. and by popular demand, I bring it back to DASC. We will caravan from the border to Bahia de Los Angeles where we will have 4 - 6 hours (or as much time as we want) swimming in the warm water, with whale sharks. We will also have a total of 3 days of boat diving and unlimited shore diving including optional night dives from our own private beach. That's right, this year we are staying in Riccardo's brand new vacation home on his own beach. Besides Whale Sharks we will have the chance to see Sea Horses, Frog Fish, Mobly's and amazing fish that you will only see here (day glow Sheapshead for example). We will take our Surface intervals looking for whales to jump in with and we will frolic with a Sea Lion Rookery. Twice we have seen Fin Whales underwater!!! This trip is for all levels of diver and is also great for a snorkeler. So, how does this work? We will caravan! You can bring your own vehicle and follow along or we will organize a carpool. Gas and insurance is shared. Don't like the idea of driving in Mexico? No worries, we will figure it out. We will meet at the McDonald's just off Dairy Mart Road (707 W San Ysidro Blvd, San Ysidro, CA 92173) We will leave the border at 8:30 and head south for 5 hours to San Quintin. On the first( and last night) we will be staying on the beach at the beautiful Hotel La Mision of Santa Maria. The next day we will have a leisurely breakfast. Then we head on down to Bahia De Los Angles. We will breakup the 4 hour drive with a stop for lunch maybe tacos at a really good taco shop. we can stop to see amazing Cave Paintings in Catavina. We will get in to BOLA (Bay OF LA) around 4:30 and check into our homes on the beach. Their is good Wifi and We can decide to cook our own food or go out to town where they have good restaurants. The next morning the boat will pick us up right in the parking lot. Day 1 we will do a couple of fun dives"adjusting" to the warm water. If the tides are right, these could be a drift dives.Then we will head on over to where the Whale Sharks frequent and frolic with these gentle giants. Day 2 we will do two dives, looking for Frog Fish and Sea Horses along with discovering amazing new fish that are not seen anywhere else. That night, we may do a night dive and again, we will see amazing creatures not seen anywhere else. Sea Horses and Frog Fish are also possible here. One year, I had a personal encounter with a friendly Mobly that fed off my light for 10 minutes. Ask me to see the video of this special encounter. Day 3 we will do two more dives maybe a sealion rookery snorkel between the dives . Then on our way back, we may have a cameo encounter with the whale sharks. Sadly we then pack up and head back to San Quintin where you will stay overnight back in a three star hotel with the sound of the ocean putting you to sleep. Some of you may decide to head home but for those of you who want to experience more of this beautiful area. We have an optional dive and/or fishing trips to the beautiful Island of San Martin. You might want to just do nothing and relax on the nearly deserted white sandy beach. You can stay and dive yet another day if you wish but eventually we must leave the beautiful country of Mexico with it's amazingly kind people and go back to reality of traffic and jobs in the U.S. You will never forget this bucket list trip.
