Taking the NAUTICARE camper up to South Lake Tahoe/D.L.Bliss State Park campground for some fun altitude diving!
The Emerald Bay Maritime Heritage Trail is a trail of wrecks dating back to the early 20th century and has numerous small crafts to explore. Also, wall diving in 75 to 100 feet of visibility at places like Rubicon Wall or Dollar Point. Its "out worldly". When asked after his first dive in the 1600ft+ deep lake, Cousteau said "The world is not ready for what I have seen."
Got me interested, LET'S GO!!
We'll be camping at beach camp site 141 from 5/30 to 6/2. Unfortunately, we won't be able to take passengers in our vehicle, but if you can arrange the transportation to and from, a DASC member (or two) who wants to put their tents on our site, since we're glamping, is welcome to the space for the entirety or part of our stay for a suggested club donation of $45.00. There are also other available sites (165 is directly across from us) at DL Bliss currently listed on RESERVECALIFORNIA.com. Those are going fast though, so act quickly if interested. Nice hotels in the So. Lake Tahoe/Emerald Bay area too if you don't want to rough it and want to bring the family. They can snorkel, hike, or go to town while we dive.
I'll book the boat charter once I know the headcount. I believe they provide tanks and weights, but I'll confirm. ~$275.00 for 3 tanks but I'll try some haggling...
Remember these are FRESH water dives at ALTITUDE. Have your computer working and adjusted properly.
Have proof of dive insurance with you.
Shore diving requires a flag on the NV side.
