Django April Meetup - We ain't no fools

Details

The year is marching on, and it's time for the next meetup!

We'll meet at Code Node at 7pm for the talks, followed by drinks.

Please note: in order to attend, you also need to register on the Skills Matter site for this meetup. We're still waiting for the Skills Matter event page to be created, but you can join the group here: https://skillsmatter.com/meetups/8038-london-django-april-meetup

_____________________________________

(6:30pm - Code Node is open, feel free to arrive early, grab some tea, and socialize whilst we set up)

7pm - Introduction and Djangocon EU summary - Adam Johnson

Your host for the evening, Adam will cover the introductions and then give a summary of what happened at Djangocon EU at the start of the month, with references to some of the more interesting talks there.

7:15pm - It's About Time: Getting to Grips with Timezones in Django - David Seddon

Timezones can be confusing and annoying if you need to support them in a project. David will run us through the tools Django provides for working with them.

7:30pm - Django Desktop Applications - Alex Damian

It's not a normal use case, but Django applications can be deployed on the desktop! Alex will cover a project he worked on that did this.

7:45pm - SpaceBar

Our venue, Code Node, will have a brilliant new bar open serving both soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks.

9.45pm - The Red Lion

The SpaceBar shuts around 9.45pm, so at this time we'll migrate across the road to the Red Lion pub for a final drink.
