About us

Have a cat? Want to meet new people? You found the perfect group! This group is all about meeting like-minded people and giving your cat some enrichment by being outside.

We take walks with our cats, get brunch outside with our cats, and get coffee outside with our cats. Make sure your cat is on a harness/leash, in a cat backpack, in a cat carrier, or in a cat stroller!

This is the perfect way to meet new people and make sure your cats don’t get bored being inside all day. Let them see new sights and smells while getting out of your house yourself 🐈

Not Bored in DC is hosting a cat crawl in October in DC! Join us as we support the Petworth Pretty Kitties Cat Crawl. Make sure to sign up both here and on Eventbrite! Link will be here and in the discord chat.

Here are the deets:
“The Petworth Pretty Kitties Cat Crawl’s goal is to highlight our cat friends with a guided walking tour to see and celebrate the neighborhood cats.

Inspired by the Wedge Cat Tour in Minneapolis, cat owners can sign up to be included as a stop on the tour. Cat lovers can join in on a guided tour to different stops in the Petworth neighborhood to see and learn about each cat.

The first one was on May 2, 2026 and the next one is scheduled for October 3, 2026. After that, the plan is to have it once a year in the fall.

The cat crawl is being led by Valerie of Not Bored in DC, who has lived in Petworth for the last 14 years.

FAQs

Are cats welcome?

Yes! If your cat enjoys going on adventures and are okay in crowds, please bring your (leashed or otherwise contained) cats, they’ll get lots of oohs and ahhhs.

Are dogs welcome?

No. This is for cats. While your dog might love cats, the cats don’t know that, and we want to make the cats as comfortable as possible. Please leave your dogs at home.

Are there bathrooms available?

No, this is a walking tour on the streets, and there are no public restrooms available. Also note that the Petworth Library is closed for renovations so there really aren’t public restrooms.”
