First Meeting: A Month of Nezami

Join us at Upside on Moore in Rossyln to discuss the work of Nezami of Ganjeh, particularly Layli and Majnun and Khosrow and Shirin. Feel free to bring your own editions and translations; no knowledge of Persian is required. I'll be posting some essays I'm writing with an assistant to stimulate discussion periodically throughout this month, focusing on the work of poet-translator Dick Davis and how he interprets Nezami. I want this to be seminar-esque but also pretty casual and accessible to non-academics.
