OPENING TEASER:
Everyone knows the human mage “Ryebridge” has UNMATCHED power & wealth. He’s known for being very generous to the people he has hired that are successful in his errands, but is equally vengeful/petty of those opposing him or failing his jobs.

Ryebridge Town, where you were born, was renamed “in honor of” that mage. It was originally named for the famous adventurer, “Lucky” Lindy Linstrom, 200 yrs ago. “Lucky Lindy” was rumored to have owned one of the "golden spheres" that magically guarantee "success" in life.

Whether this was actually true or just envious people trying to diminish him and his successes is anyone's guess. Rumors of these mystical "golden spheres" have existed for some time and people have gone on treasure hunts to find these fabled objects, but to no known real success.

Your family has always seemed to be a bit better off than other families with same or similar jobs. The reason for this has never been explained to you.

Your family has just now received the following note from the mage, Ryebridge:
“I need your child to do a task. I’ll give you a 25,000 GP reward upon task completion. Here’s a non-refundable 100 GP for your child to arrive at my palace at noon, 7 days from today.
“Your child not arriving on time would be a BIG MISTAKE!”
