Radical Agility with Docker & AWS at Zalando + Sneak peek at Docker 1.9

Details
Join us for the next Docker SF Meetup hosted by Microsoft.
6:30 pm - Arrival/ F&B
6:45 pm - Radical Agility with Docker & AWS by Volker Pilz (https://twitter.com/volkr), Head of Engineering at Zalando SE (http://tech.zalando.com)
In this talk, Volker will discuss Zalando's open-source PaaS framework STUPS (stups.io), which was built in-house to enable multiple teams to use the full power of AWS without scarifying vital aspects like security, trace-ability and architectural standards. Docker plays a key role in this setup and helps us to realize an easy and robust deployment process.
7:15pm - Sneak peek at Docker 1.9 with Alex Beslic (https://twitter.com/abronan), Software Engineer at Docker, Inc
Alex will reveal what's new with Docker 1.9 and do quick demo of the new features & improvements included in this release.
7:45pm - Host Health Monitoring via `docker run`by Noah Zoschke (https://twitter.com/nzoschke), CTO at Convox
In this talk Noah will explain:
• Benefits of immutable infrastructure
• Why a host without a reachable `dockerd` is already a zombie
• A "health check image" pattern for packaging system and application specific health check tools
• A simple Go program that periodically checks everything on AWS ECS
8:00: Q&A and networking
8:30pm - Door closes
