Details:

Speaker #1: A Comprehensive Approach to Monitoring Docker - Christian Beedgen

Abstract: I will talk about a comprehensive approach to monitoring Docker, based on this blog:

https://www.sumologic.com/2015/06/16/comprehensive-monitoring-for-docker-more-than-just-logs/

I will discuss how we implemented this (it is now an actual working source in our Collector framework) and what pros and cons we discovered. I will also address how this could be potentially improved in the future in Docker by introducing a firehose API for monitoring vendors.

Speaker #2: Docker 1.10 - Towards More Secure and Dynamic Container Service - Dong Chen and Stephen Day

Abstract: In this talk we will review what's new in Docker 1.10 and demo how you can use the new features to improve your container services. Docker 1.10 makes a huge leap forward on container security by supporting seccomp profiles, user namespace, content addressable image, and temporary file system. Dynamic update on Docker daemon is supported so you can turn on debug flag without restarting daemon. Container configuration can be updated on the fly to enable dynamic resource allocation. Networking gets even better by supporting custom IP addresses, container alias, and embedded DNS server for name resolution. Docker Swarm has advanced node management to schedule containers based on node history. Docker Compose now allows you specify networks and volumes in compose file.
