Docker Online Meetup #17: Presenting Swarm 0.2.0

We are thrilled to share this series of online meetups introducing the latest version of Docker 1.6 and the newest features surrounding Docker Engine, Machine, Swarm, Compose and Distribution.

In this third installment of the series, Alexandre Beslic (https://twitter.com/abronan) will present Docker Swarm, a Docker-native clustering system to manage containers at scale. In this talk Alex will review and demo the new features of Swarm 0.2.0. The talk will start by a general overview of the project and then move onto more advanced topics such as scheduler placing strategies, cluster resource management, node constraints and container affinity. Finally, the speaker will discuss the future of Swarm with high-availability and the support for state replication as well as the integration with third party schedulers such as Apache Mesos.

About the Speaker

Alexandre is a Software Engineer at Docker and joined the effort on Swarm, a Docker-native clustering system. Originally from Paris, France, he used Docker since the beginning of the project and strives to communicate his enthusiasm for container technologies in general. Most recently, he enjoys studying the use of distributed Key/Value stores as a key piece for container scheduling. Alexandre has a MSc in Distributed Systems and Software.
