Special Doc Wong MONSOON Ride!
Details
Special Doc Wong MONSOON Ride Sunday February 15th 9AM-3PM
Hi,
We have a very special opportunity to ride this month. The weather conditions are perfect for our very very special annual Doc Wong Monsoon Clinic: high winds, high rains, floods, tree falls, road closures, and of course mud slides!!!!!
Don’t worry, we go slow and I guarantee no traffic jams :-)
Combinations for a most perfect group ride! Sounds insane to you? Yep it is! BUT, done slowly with a group of caring riders, we all make it and have some of the most enjoyable and memorable rides!
You minimally need:
1. Anti-Fog such as Scotts anti-fog liquid or a fog proof face shield, PinLock, Fog City or ProGrip.
2. Rain Jacket. You can easily get something under $50 from Cycle Gear or whichever.
I AM SO EXCITED!!!! These special clinics happen only once in a while, so there your chance. Guaranteed BIG smiles afterwards!
We start at my office at 9AM in Belmont where I give an hour talk on the strategy to have the most fun for the day, covering wet weather riding techniques and more. Then we’ll break up into smaller groups and going thru the usual Doc Wong Riding Clinic Route. We’ll stop and gather as necessary and have lunch at Davenport before our ride thru the hills back up to Hwy 9 and Skyline. We may stop at the coffee shop in Boulder Creek too. Anyway it promises to be SUPER-COOL!!!

Why? Perhaps an adventure you’ve never had before…. ;-)
Here’s a note from Gabe who went on one last year:
“Hi Doc Wong, about a year ago I went on your "monsoon ride" (actually it was the one before, which was much wetter and muddier and nasty). I learned a *lot* on that ride. Yesterday I was riding on Hwy 9 in the pouring rain that came through around noon, and going around one corner, my front tire let go and to be honest, it happened so quickly that I’m not sure what i did, but I recovered (going about 20 mph maybe?). I remember turning the front wheel into the turn, which is something you taught us that day on the group ride.
“I’m not sure my crash-free record would still be intact without your help :).
“Cheers,
Gaber”
Yours in great health, great riding and great fun!
